Merchant Advisory, Inc. is located in the heart of Apple Country in Washington State. While that may seem a long way from some of you, we have direct access to one of the finest transportation systems in the United States.

Merchant Advisory, Inc. was founded in 1979 by its President and CEO, Phil Merchant. Phil began his career in the investment business in 1972 with the largest brokerage firm on the west coast, Mitchum, Jones and Templeton, at its office in Redlands, California. Through the lean market years of the '70's, Phil learned that the pressures of the brokerage business often resulted in activities that ran contrary to the best interests of the client.

By 1979 Phil had left the brokerage industry to set out on his own as an independent investment advisor. He developed a keen understanding of the relationship of the basic building blocks of personal finance: investing, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, and even commodities trading.

In 1993 Phil moved his family from southern California to the great northwest, settling in Wenatchee, Washington.

Today, Merchant Advisory serves clients in all of the western states as well as Hong Kong.

Phil has four children and two grandchildren. His wife, Boni, is an English instructor at Wenatchee Valley College.
